Austin Roadtrip

My trip to Austin was very much so enjoyable! I posted on Instagram (@realtalkrealfoodblog), asking "Where should I visit in Austin?" My follower gave me ideas right away on the best spots for food, pastries, history, and fun. Plus, I checked Yelp for the place my followers mentioned and additional places.

On the long drive down 35S, we saw Buc-ee's. I was so excited!! I told my friends we have to stop here! I got my usual things...crème brulee almonds, peppered beef jerky, and almond brittle!!! I go buy all these things and we had a car full of junk food!

I want to share a couple of picture of my trip and some places you should visit in Austin.

I heard so much about Franklin's BBQ and was looking forward to eating there. Until... we saw the line. I thought this must be the best barbecue in the world for people to come hours early and wait in lawn chairs with umbrellas! Unfortunately, we had to go somewhere else because we were starving and didn't want to wait all day long.

We had lunch at New Awlins Cafe. It was amazing!! I'd never had fried crawfish and decided to get the crawfish platter. It was delicious, and by signing into Yelp, I received a free pie of my choice. I had the peach pie and it wasn't bad. I should of gotten the chess pie!

We took a tour of the State Capital. It building was beautiful but the tour was too short and boring.

Toastie's sub sandwiches were go delicious! I wish they would open up a spot here in Dallas.

Sweet Ritual
Delicious coconut milk based ice cream!

Go see UTA and visit some of the cool eateries on the strip!

888 Pan Asia Restaurant The Pad Thai, The Pho, and the Orange Chicken was amazing! We will visit this restaurant again. Did I mention it's open to 2am!!!

Tell me some of the places you visit when in Austin!
